Feeding Portland with Americans Feeding Americans Caravan

Americans Feeding Americans, a program of Feed The Children, returns to Portland July 26th, 2012 for its 3rd year of working with The Salvation Army to feed the hungry of Portland. This year, 1,200 families will receive boxes filled with food, hygiene, and household goods! Location and times to be announced.

About The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination since 1865. The Salvation Army first came to Portland in 1886 and has since grown to serving thousands of people throughout the Metro area. Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army nationwide each year through the broadest array of social services, ranging from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless, and opportunities for underprivileged children. 82 cents of every dollar donated directly supports those in need. The Salvation Army is currently working in 124 countries worldwide.
